June 3, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Malayalam superstar Manmooty is all set for his second Kannada film after Love (2005). He flew straight to Bangalore after vacationing in the US. The southern superstar was largely influenced by the quality of the script. He said that it had a totally new and fresh concept. Manmooty is also very excited to work in the film with a new director, as young and debutant directors had helped his career progression so far, by offering him a variety of roles.

Manmooty is also writing the dialogues for the Malayalam version of the film. He said that he had re-entered the Kannada film industry again, because the script was impressive. The 56 year old actor said that he is playing a double role in this film, but the two characters never meet. The film is scheduled to start shooting from July. But the heroine of the film is yet to be decided. The director added that the Kannada actor Mohan will be seen in a special role too.

Shikari is written and directed by the Kannada film director Abhay Simha, who was awarded the National Award for Gubbachchigalu. The famous Kannada film producer K.Manju is the producer of this film. Manmooty adds that he cannot deny the common link between Karnataka and Kerala and would be happy to do films from both the regions.
