Shooting of ‘Current’ directed by Surya Pratap and produced by Chintalapudi Srinivasa Rao and Smt A Naga Suseela on the banner of Sri Nag Corporation was launched at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad recently. This is the second film for Sushant, nephew of Akkineni Nagarjuna and grandson of Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who made his debut through ‘Kalidasu’ and won the compliments of the audiences.
Nagarjuna gave the clap, while Nageswara Rao switched on the camera for the muhurat shot picturised on Sushant and heroine Sneha Ullal under the honorary direction of Akkineni Venkat. Earlier, Akkineni Annapurna performed puja activities and released the brochure of the film and handed over the first piece to Nageswara Rao. Speaking on the occasion, Nagarjuna says, ‘I thank all those who were promoting the films of Akkineni clan. I wish Sushant would emerge winner and get a good break with this film.’ Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, Sunil, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Raghubabu, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Shafi, Sudha, Telangana Sakuntala and others are in the cast. Music is by Devisri Prasad, camera is by Vijay C Kumar, editing is by Marthand K Venkatesh, art is by Narayana Reddy, while story, screenplay and direction are by Surya Pratap. -(SAMPURN)
