October 22, 2010 : Veteran filmmaker K. Balachandar’s Kavithalaya Productions is famous for churning out some of the best evergreen entertainers across the ages. But in the recent times, the production house is reported of having drenched in financial crisis. It is not worth mentioning that it had completed the production works of Krishnaleelai nearly before a year and yet it remains unreleased. Although the project was reported of having been acquired by Ayngaran International nearly before a year, there hasn’t been any news on the film’s release.
The film is directed by Selvan, once an associate of director Shankar. Jeevan had previously played playboy characters in the films ‘Naan Avan Illai’ and its sequel. For the first, he takes up a role of a socially responsible youngster settling scores with baddies in society.
Meghna stars opposite Jeevan in female lead role while R. Sundarrajan, Nasser, Kathal Dhandapani and Kota Sreenivasa Rao have performed important roles.
‘Muriyadi’ is the other release produced by the same banner. Director Selvah has completed the shooting within short span of time. The film is remake of yesteryear Malayalam superhit movie ‘Passenger’ starring Dhilip, Srinivasan and Mamta Mohandas in lead roles. The remake version has Sathyaraj, Ganesh Venkataram and Ramya Nambeesan.
Closer sources of Kavithalaya Productions have mentioned that Muriyadi will be released shortly by December.
