November 25, 2010 : The Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who is now ruling the current US pop album chart with her latest album ‘The Gift’ with sales of around 335,000 units till the last week, is going to face a strong competition from American rapper Kanye West, as per the industry gurus.
Susan’s ‘The Gift’ was released on 8th November 2010 under the label of Syco, Columbia Records. The successful journey of the album may get a halt as West is here with his fifth studio album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ very soon. The experts are predicting that it may go on selling about 550,000 units by this week’s end on November 28th.
This is the fourth consecutive album of Kanye West after ‘Late Registration’ in 2005, ‘Graduation’ in 2007 and ‘808s & Heartbreak’ in 2008. He reached the second spot with 2004 debut ‘The College Dropout’ so now it’s time to capture the top spot.
However, both Kanye and Susan will face challenge from rookie rapper Nicki Minaj, whose ‘Pink Friday’ is aiming to start the journey with 400,000 copies.
Susan has been officially recognized by the ‘Guinness World Records’ for making a record of the fastest selling debut album by any female artist in the UK. So, it will not be a easy task for Kanye to snatch the top position from her!
