December 1, 2010 : Young actors from the Kollywood and Tollywood industries are getting ready for their next project at hand. No, this time it is not a film, rather it is a cricket match! According to reports in the media, the youth brigade from the Tamil and the Telugu industries will be pitched against one another in a cricket match to be held in Dubai. The T20 version of the game will be organized by Telugu actor Abbas in Dubai.
It is to be recalled here that Abbas had organized a similar match in the year 2005 in Dubai itself. And keeping in mind the huge population of South Indians in the South East Asian city, the cricket match played five years ago was a huge crowd puller and one of the most popular events in Dubai in 2005. Therefore, Abbas is trying to encash on the popularity of the game once again this year.
While the actor himself will lead the Kollywood team, Tarun will be the captain of the Tollywood cricket team for the T20 Dubai match. Joining Abbas in his team are actors Madhavan, Arya, Bharath, Jayam Ravi, Jiiva, Shanthanoo, Jai, Adharva, Vikrant and Nanda. The Tollywood team, on the other hand, will consist of young actors like Ravi Teja, Srikanth, Ayappa and Allari Naresh apart from Tarun.
This year’s T20 cricket match is expected to generate a larger number of spectators because the teams will boast of only young actors from both film industries and also because of the fact that both Tollywood and Kollywood films have a bigger audience base today. The match is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
