October 12, 2010 : Rachana Banerjee, the well known Bengali actress has scorched the screen with her good looks in more than
30 Bengali movies. Recently the actress told us that she wants to try her hand at Jatra. Apparently the actress wants to get a hand on experience about performing in jatra. Jatra is a popular medium of entertainment in Bengali culture and most of the Bengali movie stars often star in these popular fixtures.
To mark her debut, Rachana Banerjee has chosen to play the role of a princess in the upcoming jatra Sapnotorir Rajkianya. The actress told us that she has done live shows in the past five years and feels pretty comfortable performing in front of a live audience. Now the actress wants to try her stage-acting skills at the Jatra platform. The actress feels that jatra has a longer shelf life compared to stage shows and now she wants to be a part of the lucrative industry.
Speaking about the remuneration, rachana told us that doing Jatra continuously for a month is likely to pay her more than completing an entire 30-day shooting schedule. So with rachana concentrating on jatra in the next couple of months she will have to turn down every other movie offers that come her way during this time.
