November 19, 2010 : South Indian superstar Rajinikanth indeed has a golden heart. The actor may be earning crores at the box office, but he is also shelling out lakhs for humanitarian causes. And his golden heart went on display this year when the whole country was celebrating the festival of lights. Rajinikanth is South India’s most favorite actor is a fact well known to all of us. His fans not only wait in long queues to watch his films, they also worship him like God. And the star too, does not disappoint them, be it through his superb renderings in films, or through his philanthropic services to the society. Rajinikanth is a favorite with the state cops and he made sure to show his love and care for the officers by offering them special gifts during Diwali.
And this was not the end of his charity services during the festival season. Rajinikanth is an ardent follower of God and thus decided to donate a couple of gopuram models to the Sri Arunachaleswarar Temple located in Tiruvannamalai. And this was not all. On hearing about a lighting problem disturbing the illumination of the Temple during this festive season, the actor made sure that enough money be provided to the Temple authorities so that they can use it to purchase superior quality lighting for the Temple.
The Sri Arunachaleswarar Temple authorities cannot help but praise the philanthropic act of Rajinikanth, who has also said that he will donate more towards the Temple’s betterment in the future. This just proves that not only Rajinikanth a good actor, he is also a man with a golden heart, in a world that is ruled by commercialism.
