Owing to the fact that “Endhiran” is gradually becoming the biggest blockbuster not only down South, but also in Mumbai, Rajinikanth is probably the busiest star in tinsel town these days. And part of his ’business’ comes in the form of making regular trips to various parts of the world, work-related, to his extravagant offering. During one of such visits to Mumbai on Tuesday, Rajinikanth met with Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray at the politician’s home in Bandra. The visit, said Rajinikanth, was his own way to show respect to the great leader.
Speaking to the media after the visit, Rajinikanth compared Balasaheb Thackeray to the Almighty, saying that the Marathi leader is nothing less than God to him! It is to be remembered that the south superstar is a Marathi by birth. However, Rajinikanth has always considered Tamil Nadu as his home state. Tamil Nadu is the place where the south star became what he is today and therefore, Rajinikanth, too, never leaves any stone unturned to promote the cause of the state and its people who in turn consider him their God.
It is also not unknown that Bal Thackeray had always shown a particular liking for Rajinikanth several times in the past. ‘Saamna’, the official mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena in Mumbai has published several articles where Bal Thackeray is heard speaking against the top actors of Bollywood, comparing them to Rajinikanth, who according to Thackeray is a true citizen of this country.
