October 22, 2010 : Couple of years back, Sasikumar made his directorial debut with ‘Subramaniapuram’, which turned to be one of the best trendsetting movies in the history of Tamil film industry. After a long sabbatical interval, Sasikumar is back with ‘Easan’, which is being produced by his home banner. The entire crew spoke about the new project which will be completed within a short span of time.
For the first time, Sasikumar has made a film keeping Chennai in the backdrop. Says Sasikumar: ‘This film is completely based on different socio-economic classes of this city. Samuthirakkani plays the lead role of a police officer and producer A.L. Azhagappan (father of director A.L. Vijay of ‘Kireedom Madharasapattinam’ fame) in there in a prominent role.”
Vaibhav of ‘Saroja and Goa’ fame, Nadodigal Abhinaya and a league of newcomers Aparna, Thulasi, Namo Narayanan have played important roles in this movie.
James Vasanthan, whose previous album ‘Subramaniapuram’ with Sasikumar was a chart buster and has tuned 5 songs with different musical genres for this film. Kathir has handled cinematography for this movie.
Sasikumar doesn’t shed more lights on this film as he says, “revealing the storyline will be a spoiler. Plans are to release the film in December while the audio will be launched in November.”
