Shruti Haasan has reportedly been approached for the role which was originally offered to Tamannah Bhatia in upcoming Telugu action-drama “Aagadu” featuring Superstar Mahesh Babu, says a source from the industry.

Shruti’s name has come up for the lead role in ‘Aagadu’. However, nothing has been confirmed yet as Srinu Vaitla (director) has to take the final call. We should have some clarity in a couple of weeks,” a source close to the director told IANS.

Tamannah was finalised for the role a few months ago, but since Shruti is the most sought after actress in Telugu industry, she is being considered for the role.

While Tamannah’s last four Telugu films failed to rake in the moolah at the box-office, Shruti struck gold with her films such as “Gabbar Singh” and “Balupu”.

Aagadu“, which is expected to go on floors by November, will bring together Srinu Vaitla and Mahesh Babu for the second time after Telugu blockbuster “Dookudu”.

Meanwhile, Shruti is awaiting the release of Telugu romantic-drama “Ramayya Vasthavayya”.
