It looks like ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and ‘Kutty’ will be the only releases this Pongal. Earlier, the producers of ‘Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’ and ‘Goa’ had planned to release the film on January 14 on the festival of Pongal.
But as the makers of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ had screened the trailers and songs, the expectations became high among the distributors and the film has been sold out for a big price. Apparently, Vikram Krishna- producer of Vishal’s ‘TVP’ had no options other than backing off from the Pongal race.
Similarly, Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Goa’ seems to be following the same pattern of postponing the release date. It looks like both these films will be slated for release on January 26 on the occasion of Republic Day.
Well Dhanush can chill out as his film ‘Kutty’ has already done good business even after Sun Pictures walked out of the project. It’s mainly because of his previous film ‘Padikadhavan’, which topped the charts in the year 2009.
