That’s right! As Bappi Lahiri celebrates his 40th year in the music industry, he is crooning, ” Mere L Lag Gaye”. Before you read too much into this, let us share with you, Jolly LLB’s anthem, that is set to introduce you to the life and times of our Jolly! The lawyer from Meerut, considered to be a loser by many!

Bappi Lahiri at the Inaugural of Madmidaas Films Main Aur Mr. Riight in Evershine Mall, Malad on 10th May 2012 (5).JPGSung by Bappi Da in his inimitable style, ‘Mere L Lag Gaye’ is particularly close to his heart because it’s come in the 40th year of his career. The veteran music composer has collaborated with director Subhash Kapoor and composer Krsna for the number which is comic and satirical at the same time.

Talking about the song Bappi Lahiri, adds, “The first time, I heard the song; I knew this was a superhit. It had very catchy music by Krsna, very earthy yet contagious lyrics by director Subhash Kapoor, and it was about the common man and his woes, and who else could represent the common man better than Arshad Warsi! I think Mere to L Lag Gaye is a superhit in every sense.”

Music composer Krsna says, “There is something very infective about Subhashji’s lyrics..And the moment I set it to tune, I saw the entire studio humming it, women included. It touched a chord somewhere and when Bappi Da lent his voice, his energy took the song to a different zone altogether”.

Director Subhash Kapoor, who has also penned the lyrics for the song says “The moment we prepared the concept of L Lag Gaye both Krsna and I agreed that only Bappi Da could sing this one. This song is Bappi Da’s gift to his fans on completing forty years in Bollywood”

The fact that this song comes on the occasion of Bappi Da’s 40th year of his contribution to the music industry , makes it all the more significant for all his music lovers”.
