Ghazals gets a new horizon with “Ishq Nahin Asaan” by Jaswinder Singh

Jaswinder Singh was pleased with their presence and was highly obliged. The other guest-list includes Sufi-maestro Kailash Kher, Rakesh Bedi, Rekha Bhardawaj. The album was launched by Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi and Kailash Kher. It was followed by words of praise by all the three stalwarts in support of Jaswinder singh and Ghazal genre. In the gradual stages, came the most awaited performance of the night. Jaswinder Singh enthralled the jam packed audience with few ghazals from his album and created more enthusiasm amongst people to go ahead and grab their copy. To build up the tempo, Kailash Kher sang few of his hits numbers. They all came to motivate a genre which has its own uniqueness, class and flavour. This album indeed is going to add the exclusivity to the genre.

The album “Ishq Nahin Asaan” consists of 8 tracks out of which there are 7 romantic ghazals by noted poets like Bekhud, Momin, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Jigar Moradabadi and renowned Mirza Galib and one very popular Nazm “ Rotiyan ” by Nazeer Akbarabadi. The music is composed by the veteran Kuldip Singh. The highlight of the album is “Hum Ishq key maaron ka itna hi fasaana hai” which has a music video beautifully shot and directed by Raajeev Walia. All other songs add the charm to the album.

Jaswinder Singh undoubtedly is one of the most promising and sensational ghazal singer of this generation. “The young Ghazal Maestro” is the title awarded to him by Indian music Academy and Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia in the presence of the former President of India, Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Azad. This album is one of his achievements in its own kind and certainly he has proved himself as successor of legendary Ghazal singers like Pankaj Udhas and Jageet Singh.
