December 15, 2010 : Kiran Rao’s directorial venture Dhobi Ghat is making news almost every day for one or the other reason. The latest addition to this is the inclusion of her hubby Aamir Khan’s family members! Well, none of the family members will be seen in any full-fledge role.
The reports suggest that Bollywood star Imran Khan’s mother Nuzhat Khan, who is also sister of Aamir Khan, would appear in a scene along with Imran’s would be mother-in-law Vandana Malik. They will be a part of a group, which visits an art gallery along with the lead actor Aamir Khan. So, it is more like blink a miss role for both the ladies. But, still they are there in the movie and it shows a bonding within the family.
Apart from Aamir Khan’s family members, Dhobi Ghat will also show some of the close friends of the director Kiran Rao.
According to the sources, it was basically Kiran’s idea to include the family members and friends in her first movie as a director. It was no doubt a nice gesture from Kiran towards her family members, who enjoyed shooting for the momentary appearance and were very happy.
It is said that Aamir Khan’s movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak also had his family members in such small appearances
