Madhur Bhandarkar Acquires Right Of Classic Song ‘Koi Hota Jisko Apnaâ?? For His Film

Published on

January 25, 2011 : Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is a self confessed fan of veteran lyricist Gulzar. He even said that his latest film Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji is a tribute to his idol as the title has been taken from a song from Ishqiya, which is written by Gulzar.

Now, Madhur has again successfully acquired the rights of yet another popular number written by Gulzar to be used in the same film. The filmmaker has got the rights of the classic track ‘Koi Hota Jisko Apna’ from the 1971 film Mere Apne. Madhur tried hard to get the rights of this song, made popular by the voice of legendary Kishore Kumar.

This song remains one of the most popular songs by Kishore Kumar and Madhur is a great fan of his son. The filmmaker said that one situation of his film perfectly suited this number, so he wanted to use it at any cost. He acquired the rights in one condition that he cannot tamper with this classic number.

Confirming the same, Madhur said that Salil Chowdhary has wonderfully composed the number, so it will be a crime if he tries to change the track. He said that he has used the song in its original form in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji as no one can sing it like Kishore Kumar today.

Madhur is very keen to show the film to Gulzaar saab to show that how much he has been influenced by the veteran. We hope, the song has been properly used in the film and Kishore and Gulzar fans are not disappointed!
