After the tremendous success of Yamla Pagla Deewana, Dharmendra announced that he wishes to create a sequel. However, the director of the original Samir Karnik opted out of the sequel and Sangeeth Sivan was hired to write and direct the sequel.
The film also brings back the magic of three deols in a Rib-Tickling comic way once again. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol looks as fresh as they were before. YPD 2 also boosts the very talented star cast such as Neha Sharma, Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever and Annu Kapoor. The trailer features funny lines in between the fresh pair Bobby Deol and Neha Sharma. The sequel was announced after the success of the original, and the project began filming in September 2012.The first look of the film was also unveiled after its first schedule was completed also in September 2012.
