Sensational Actress Taapsee Pannu unveils her character first look motion poster from forthcoming sports drama Soorma. She is playing the role of a sportswoman named Harpreet aka Preet!
The ‘Pink’ actor shared the motion poster from the film on her official Twitter handle and tweeted, “For my undying love for sports and my country. Meet Harpreet aka Preet – who believes in pushing the boundries. Directed by Shaad Ali, the movie also stars Diljit Dosanjh, Chitrangda Singh, Angad Bedi and is an Indian biographical film based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh.
Sandeep Singh is an ace hockey player and an ex-captain of the Indian National Team. While the film isn’t a biopic, it explores an important chapter of Sandeep’s life which would be portrayed. Apparently, the film will be a love story of two hockey players and their relationship.
Soorma tells the story of the international hockey player Sandeep Singh, played by Diljit Dosanjh, who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gun-shot injured him in 2006. Fighting against all odds, Sandeep got back on his feet and made a comeback to international hockey in 2008. India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup under his captaincy and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
The film is scheduled to release on 13 July 2018.
