After the press show ended, all the members of the fourth estate were ‘paid’ – yes, you guessed it right – Barah Aana.

at Barah Aana Screening in Fame Adlabs, Andheri, Mumbai on 13th March 2009.JPGBut jokes apart, it was truely a ‘hatke’ idea to gift the media men a wallet with 75 paise inside! The wallet also contained a fake Rs. 10 currency note with the Director’s Note printed on the reverse. The pictures of the lead actors of Barah Aana as well as the visiting cards of the producers and director of the film were also stuffed into the wallet which contained a bill of three cutting chai for Rs. 7.50. In short, there was stuff in the wallet, which people generally keep.

The names of the cast and crew members were mentioned on a piece of paper which was neatly folded and kept in the money bag. Since a part of the film’s plot deals with kidnapping and ransom, the names of the crew members were listed as the victims alongside which were mentioned their occupations and the ransom amount which, probably, de noted the fee he/she charged. For instance, the occupation of ‘victim’ Shri was shown as music, which means he is the film’s music director.

The ransom amount was shown to be Rs. 35,000. Nandini Shrikent was another ‘victim’ and her occupation was indicated as casting. Since she is the film’s casting director and her ransom amount was well you guessed it right – a couch Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Raaz, Arjun Mathur and the other cast members were listed as ‘Co-Conspirators’ in the kidnap drama.

Now this was one bribe media men didn’t mind as not only it was harmless fun but also an intelligent and original concept.
