Aditi Rao Hydari just bagged the most prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award and expressed her gratitude to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Omung Kumar for giving her the roles of Mehrunissa and Bhoomi.

The actress Aditi took to her social media account and shared pictures from the ceremony and expressed her happiness and gratitude. She wrote, “Thank you for this huge honour…#RajivGandhiExcellenceAward for #Bhoomi and #Padmaavat. Thank you @SheilaDikshit ma’am for this award & for your warmth. Thank you Sanjay Sir & @OmungKumar Sir for making me your #Mehrunissa and #Bhoomi. And thank you all my guardian angels”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmaavat had Aditi Rao Hydari portraying the role of Alauddin Khilji’s wife. The role fetched her accolades and much-needed box-office success.
She followed her winning streak with another social drama movie, Bhoomi, a heart-wrenching story about a daughter and father, their struggle to survive a vicious gangster. The movie was a moderate box-office success but critically acclaimed.
Aditi was last seen in Daas Dev, a romantic political thriller directed by Sudhir Mishra, also starring Rahul Bhat, Richa Chadda and Saurabh Shukla in the lead.
Next, Aditi will be seen in Sammohanam, a forthcoming Telugu coming of age love story film written and directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti. Produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, it also features Sudheer Babu in the lead role.
