Angelic Actress Anjali Pandey is the new face of Amul’s Manthan advertisement Modern model turns into a traditional Indian girl for the ad. This modern angel has transformed herself into a rustic Indian beauty for an ad and got heads nodding in disbelief! Anjali Pandey, a bubbly chirpy Indian model, who has already made a significant mark in Indian modeling industry, has now become the new face of the Amul Manthan advertisement campaign. Remember the popular commercial ‘Mero gaam Katha parey…’ the title song of Smita Patil starrer national award winning film ‘Manthan’, which told the story of Amul model of co-operatives.
Now, a decade later, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) that markets brand Amul, has recreated the magic of Manthan with a new commercial, which shows Bharat catching up with India.
And Anjali, the stunning beauty, a trained Kathak dancer, a swimmer and a singer, is now at the face of the modern interpretation of the idea that shows Bharat merging into India. This latest commercial launched on October 22, and shot in Anand (Gujarat) is one of GCMMF’s most extensive campaigns with over 4,000 spots (of 60 seconds each) to feature across 40 television channels, 1,000 cinema halls, six million impressions in digital media, while the jingle will be also played on 60 radio
Anjali, who has a diploma in information technology and a BCA degree under her cap, is part of Amul Manthan’s new modern approach and interpretation taken by the ad campaign. The director Subodh Poddar was pretty confident that Anjali, inspite of being perceived as an ultra modern girl, will still be able to pull it off.
Talking about her high profile ad campaign, “I love playing different characters and I usually excel when no one believes that I shall be able to pull it off! As part of an Indian characterization, I sat next to the cow and the buffalo and even pretended to be calm and it was extremely challenging to do it. I was not at all conscious of the milk and cow dung around me. Director Subodh Poddar was extremely patient and the camera work by Binod Pradhan was so fantastic and beautiful ad out that I couldn’t believe that I could look so Indian when the ad was launched.”
