Ayushmann Khurrana attended launch of 10th Oppo Times Fresh Face Contest on Thursday in Mumbai. During an event, Ayushmann stated that his upcoming film Bareilly Ki Barfi has all quirks of Hrishkesh Mukherjee and Sai Paranjape’s school of cinema.
Legendary filmmakers Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Sai Paranjape used to showcase common man’s journey and their troubles in light-hearted manner through their movies similarly, Bareilly Ki Barfi goes through that idea, talking about his film, Ayushmann said, “The trailer of Bareilly Ki Barfi is very quirky. Casting of the film is amazing. It has combination of me, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao so I think it is working out pretty well. Nitesh Tiwari is coming after of Dangal as a writer and his wife Ashwiny making a film after film like Nil Battey Sannata. I feel this film has all quirks of typical Hrishikesh Mukherjee or Sai Paranjape’s school of cinema. It’s a very Woody Allenisc (American filmmaker) in a way. I am glad that trailer of the film is getting great response”.
Ayushmann Khurrana is man of different skills and talent be it acting, singing, hosting and writing, so when asked him what he is doing new these days, he said, “I have been writing these days a lot of columns. I have been writing poetry and lyrics for my songs. I feel, it good to evolve over the years. It’s good to discover new talent and think about other avenues for yourself because I feel life is all about learning but my personal opinion would be that you just need one talent to survive a lifetime. You don’t really have to be multi-talented person. If you focus on just one then in your life then I feel it’s enough”.
Talking about Oppo Times Fresh Face contest, Ayushmann said, “India is young country. The average age of nation is 28 and here we are dealing with teenagers. I started with reality show coming from Chandigarh. It was 2002 when the first reality show I entered. It gave me platform similarly, Oppo Times Fresh Face is perfect platform for youngsters to showcase their talent and take them into different spheres because if you are not from the industry then you think about different avenues to get notice and showcase your talent”.
He also gave a piece of advice to contestants who participating in the contest, he said, “I think it’s good to be yourself and discover yourself more because what your forte is you have to constantly polish that when you are in your younger days and apart from that you can grow by meeting and interacting with new people from different walks of life and experiencing different cultures. It’s a gradual process which everyone has to go through”.
Ayshmann’s Bareilly Ki Barfi is releasing on 18 August, 2017.
