Akshay Kumar unveils the most epic and patriotic trailer of upcoming hockey drama, titled Gold, the movies combines two of the strongest emotion in our country, love for country and sports.
Khiladi Kumar released the trailer on his social media profile. He wrote, “Winners under British India, Legends under Free India. Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film Gold has a powerful ensemble cast that includes Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Bollywood debutante Mouni Roy.
Akshay, perhaps for the first time, will be seen as a Bengali in the film and the trailer gives a peek into that persona. The film’s scope is an ambitious 12 years, from 1936 to 1948, in which India gains independence.
A historical sports drama inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal. The film traces the “golden era” of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreams of playing for an independent nation.
GOLD releases in theatres on 15th August, 2018.
