Dia Mirza who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film ‘Sanju‘ said the rare six sheeter poster of ‘Mother India’ would make a good gift for for Sanjay Dutt and his family.
The actress interacted with media at the Royal wedding of Nawab of Kurnool Adnan Ul Mulk and Nina Farooqu on Wednesday
Dia who has also worked with Sanjay Dutt in ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ said she bid on a original six-sheet poster of the landmark film ‘Mother India’ for the Dutt family, “I was part of a very beautiful and important auction to restore the heritage of cinema, and during that auction some very priceless memorabilia was being auctioned obviously and I found this six sheeter of ‘Mother India’. I thought it would make a very special gift for Sanju sir and his family so I bid for it.”
Dia bid for the 1957 movie ‘Mother India’s poster- depicting the iconic Nargis Dutt – at IIFA Auction at the recently concluded International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards in Bangkok.
Dia will be seen portraying the role of Sanjay Dutt’s wife Manyata Dutt in the biopic film. Talking about the film’s release in two days Dia said she is more excited then nervous for the people to see it. “In some parts of the world Sanju is going to release tomorrow and here it will release day after. Sanju is a special film and i think all of us who are a part of it are excited and cant wait for the audience to watch the film and enjoy it”
When asked if she has seen the movie yet, Dia said, “I have lots of parts of it, the cast and crew screening is tomorrow. I have been wanting to watch it but I have been traveling and havent had the chance yet. But I will watch it with my family soon.”
In the film Sanju directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dia has be cast opposite Ranbir Kapoor who will be seen playing Sanjay Dutt. Presented by Fox star studios, the film will star Manisha Koirala, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Tabu and many more.
