Veteran writer and lyricist Javed Akthar has said that he is happy and impressed with the kind of realistic films being made in Hindi film industry.

Sharing his views after watching ‘Sonchriya’, Akthar said, “When you come out of a theatre watching a bad movie and when people ask you how was that movie then, it gets really difficult to answer the question but there is no problem with ‘Sonchiriya’ when it comes to that question because it’s really a nice movie. It’s a really well written and interesting script along with really good direction and performances.”

Akthar said he is happy with the kind of realistic film being made in Hindi cinema, he said, “Nowadays, the films which I have been watching like ‘Sonchiriya’, Zoya’s (Zoya Akthar) ‘Gully Boy’ and her web series ‘Made In Heaven’ are really good because they are showing different kind of stories but one thing about these films are common that level of realism has increased.”

He added, “Earlier we used to have theatrical dialogues but now we see real conversation onscreen but not at the cost of dramatic effect. I feel dramatic effect of these kind of films are much more real than earlier ones so, I am very happy and impressed about this kind of work.”

Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Sonchiriya’ is releasing on 1st March, 2019.
