Abhay Deol who is known for having impeccable comic timing which runs in the blood of Deol family said he is apprehensive about playing a character when working with his family.
Abhay spoke to media at the trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Nanu Ki Jaanu’ along with Patralekhaa, Faraz Haider and Manu Rishi Chadha on Monday in Mumbai.
When asked Abhay whether he will be working with his family in the upcoming sequel of ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’, he said, “I would love to work with my family. It’s just that I am picky about my own work and tomorrow if people approached me for a film with my family then, I will be going through that script even more diligently than my own script. Because I want it to be that much perfect so yeah, one day when the right script comes along.
My one apprehension is that I wouldn’t know how to be anybody else other than who I am around my brothers (Sunny and Bobby Deol) and Taaya (Dharmendra – elder brother of his father). It is so difficult for me to imagine acting like someone else. I don’t know if I will be able to that. Suppose in a scene, I have to be rude with Pappa (Dharmendra). I don’t know if I will have that courage to perform in front of him so that’s my own personal fear but other than that if there is a script that’s good for us to do then I am sure I would do it”
‘Nanu ki Janu’ Abhay’s upcoming film is based on a story of a ghost when asked Abhay what prompted him to say yes to this horror-comedy, he said, “Essentially, I liked the plot, humor, dialogues, and characterization of this film. Usually what happens when you see characters which are shown in the film are inspired from real life then automatically, you become interested in that process because it is being true to its background and it has got a sense of humor and style.
‘Nanu Ki Jaanu’ is a horror comedy, where a ghost falls in love with a crook, starring Abhay Deol and Patralekhaa in lead roles.
The film is produced by Inbox Pictures, directed by Faraz Haider and written by Manu Rishi Chadha
