High time Nation Took Women Empowerment Seriously Says Varun Dhawan

Youngest superstar Varun Dhawan says that it is high time that nation took the issue of empowering women seriously on the sidelines of Lux Golden Rose Petal Awards here in Mumbai.

Prestigious Lux Golden Rose Petal Award ceremony was concluded last night in Mumbai. The award show came up with a unique and much-needed campaign as well, He For She, and actor Varun Dhawan is in favor of it.
When asked about the initiative and issues which need to be addressed regarding women safety and equal right, Varun Dhawan said, “There are a lot of issues, I think we live in a society there is quite a bit of change is happening, it is high time that our nation takes the issue of empowering women very seriously”
“There are a lot of things, women in the workforce or at home, there is a lot of inequality that they face but Indian woman is stronger than anyone (Bharitye Naari Hai, Vo Sab Par Bhari Hain) and you could never underestimate a woman, especially an Indian woman. I think it is a great occasion that Lux has kept the award show on ‘He For She’ theme and I am just here to support them”
Talking about the support and stand Varun Dhawan takes for women, he said, “The stand that I take, see the films that I do or doing, so all the women working there or all the technicians, women or girls, there safety and the fact that they get an equal platform to show their talent, I can look into that and I try and do that as much as possible”
Bollywood is struck with the marriage bug, after Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, the entire younger lot of actors are getting married. Recently Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone tied the knot in Italy.
Talking about his marriage, Varun Dhawan said, “I am open to marriage. And it is not a bug, it is one thing that brings happiness to our families and I will get into it at the right time. I am in a good place right now”
On the work front, Varun Dhawan is currently busy wrapping his multi-starrer ensemble project Kalank, which is helmed by Abhishek Verman, the period drama is produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Fox Star Studios.
It also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Kunal Khemu, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The film is scheduled for release on 19 April 2019.
