I have chosen the A-lister heroines this time: Kareena Kapoor Khan

Actress and mother Kareena Kapoor says with ‘Veere Di Wedding‘ she chose to work with A-lister heroines this time.

Kareena along with co stars, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania and producers, Ekta Kapoor and Reha Kapoor was present at the music launch of the film on Tuesday,

Kareena Kapoor Khan who has worked opposite A lister actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan when asked how different was the expreience this time with the film she said, “I have chosen the A-lister heroines this time.”

The ‘Udta Punjab‘ actress while talking about feminism said she is as proud to be called Saif wife as she is of herself. “I believe in equality, I wouldn’t say I am a feminist but I would say I am a woman but above all, I am a human being. I am as proud to be a known as Saif Ali Khan‘s wife as I am to be Kareena Kapoor.”

When asked which is the funniest moment in the film that she loved to shoot, Kareena reminisced throwing Sumeet Vyas of the moon prop scene which can be seen in the film’s trailer.She said, “I have never had the opportunity to throw a hero off the moon so thank you, scriptwriters, for giving me this chance. I think it is going to go down in history.”

Know to not shy away from the media when it comes to talking about her personal life is said to be playing the role of a commitment phobic when asked what drove her to chose such a different character she said, “The thing that made me take up this role was that I think for a commercial mainstream who has always worked with other mainstream actors like Shah Rukh or Salman for me it was very different to be a part of a film with four girls. The story is what I got completely obsessed with and I thought it was really cool I think who better than this entire team, to put this film together. This was the reason I wanted to do this film, and as far as Kalindi (her character name) is concerned, she is a really cool character and there is a reason why she is commitment phobic which we will see in the film.”

‘Veere di wedding’, directed by Shashanka Ghosh revolves around four friends attending a wedding. The film stars Kareena Kapoor as one of the leads who is getting married, along with friends as Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania who have their own stories to tell.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network and Saffron Broadcast & Media Ltd the film is scheduled to release on 1st June.
