Kunal Kapoor and Mohit Marwah who are playing role of soldiers of Indian National Army in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raagdesh interacted with media on Monday in Mumbai. During the media interaction, Kunal revealed that, as per the British intelligence reports, formation of Indian National Army was the biggest reason why Britisher’s left our country.

Talking about being part of Raagdesh, Kunal said, “It is one of the important part of our history which played important role in independence struggle of India and getting associated with such film is very proud moment for us.”

He added, “When I first heard the script, I thought why anyone earlier hasn’t made film on this subject because it’s very amazing story. It has everything which requires for a good film script. The film has war drama, courtroom drama, emotions, romance, and bromance. I feel after watching this film people will realize the contribution of Indian National Army (INA) and Subhash Chandra Bose in freedom fight of India. If you read British intelligence of that time then you will know that formation of India National Army (INA) was the biggest reason which is why Britisher’s left our country”

Recently, Raagdesh screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan for giving farewell to India’s outgoing president Pranab Mukherjee, when asked about the experience. Kunal said, “It was amazing experience for our team. We had lots of fun. President was very warm with us. Apart from him, many political leaders and ministers from our country watched the film and they all liked the film so it was matter of pride for our entire team”

Mohit added to that, “The relatives of characters which we are paying was also present there so after watching the film, they came to us and appreciate our effort so I think it was biggest stamp of approval for us”

Kunal talked about making authentic historic drama, he said, “We have tried to make it very authentic but we have took cinematic liberty in certain parts because when these characters were talking to each other so it was hard to know their conversation. Tigmanshu sir also added a fictional character of a journalist in this film which takes forward story of the film”

Talking about his character, Kunal said, “My character is not that serious in the film as it is sounding in the trailer. He is General of the Army and he is very senior officer in the army that is the reason he is very mature and understanding character and he also likes to give opinion about certain situation after knowing details of it so I really enjoyed playing this character which I haven’t did before in films”

Raagdesh is clashing with Arjun Kapoor’s Mubarakan, when asked about whether team members feeling any kind of pressure, Kunal said, “We don’t have any kind of pressure because if you see, there are 2-3 films releasing every week not just in Bollywood but in Hollywood as well so its unnecessary

to think about these things. I want our film should do good business and others films should also do well “

Mohit also added that, “our level of respect has increased a lot for soldiers. After playing soldiers, we understood what compromises they do so we are going to show our film to soldiers at Jaisalmer border”.
