Fans have seen Kalki Koechlin essay some brilliant roles in the past, a striking performance in “A Death In The Gunj” or heartwarming portrayal in “Margarita With A Straw” but with Jia Aur Jia, the actress has surprised everyone, especially her family.
“Everybody is surprised, and my family is definitely more surprised than anyone that I am doing a film like Jia Aur Jia. I am dancing in the film and doing all sorts of things” said Kalki Koechlin about her role in Jia Aur Jia.
Helmed by Howard Rosemeyer, the film is a story of two women with the same name who come together for an exciting journey that proves to be life-changing in more ways than one.
Further talking about her all dancing and mad character, Kalki added, “My version of Jia is quite mad. She doesn’t filter anything in life, if it’s in her head it’s out of her mouth. If there is an opportunity to mess things up or just to irritate someone, she takes it. My character is madder than me in the film, now you can imagine what kind of mad character I am playing. She stays in the moment, she wants to live life in the moment as she believes that this is the only moment she has”
Jia Aur Jia marks the first ever film of Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chadha, who are dear friends in real life but never worked together.
Talking about sharing screen space with stellar performance Richa Chadha, the actress Kalki said, “I am shooting with Richa Chadha for the first time, I mean we are friends from past but we are working for the first time. So I am happy and excited about the film”
Distributed by Bluefox Motion Pictures, the film is scheduled to release on 27 October 2017.
