Some of the top news papers have reported that the filmmakers has given his nod to the sequel od 2008 film Dostana and the film is expected to go on floors by early next year. The filmmaker tweeted, “Hello!!! All news circulating about DOSTANA 2 is untrue!!! Lots of speculation which is entirely baseless!!!”
Reports also suggested that the sequel is to star Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor.
Janhvi recently bagged a role Karan’s 2020 historical drama ‘Takht’. Takht is said to revolve around the battle for the throne of the Mughal empire.
Directed by Karan Johar, the period drama stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor among others.
The film is is primarily a story of two brothers Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh while Kareena will be seen as Ranveer sister, Alia Bhatt will play Ranveer’s love interest.
Takht is scheduled for a 2020 release,
