“Hey that is Manoj Bhai. Why have you come after 10 years to meet us,” is what many inmates at Tihar Jail were saying to Manoj Bajpayee. Ten years before also Manoj had gone to Tihar as part of the celeb team for the development programme of the inmates.
“It was so amusing because even I could recognize a few faces from my previous trip. I was surprised to see them in jail even after ten years. I had good interaction with my old acquaintances. And the other cast of the film was pulling my leg for being so familiar with the prisoners. But it was a learning curve, the visit to the jail. It teaches you the value of laws of the land and being straight.”
Manoj Bajpayee had gone to Tihar Jail for the promotion of Madhur Bhandarkar’s film JAIL. In the film, Manoj is playing the role of a convict and feels that his portrayal is a good reflection of reality. His other film on floor is Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti.
