Filmmaker Karan Johar drops the first official trailer of Mauli, starring Riteish Deshmukh and Saiyami Kher in the lead role, and hails the movie as “box-office hurricane”.
Karan Johar took to his Twitter profile and shared the trailer. He captioned it, “OMG!! This one’s going to be box office hurricane!!! @Riteishd as never before!!! He is amazing and a full on force in this film!!! So proud of you my friend for being such a huge contributor and strength to Marathi cinema!! #Maulitrailer”
Made under the Banner of Mumbai Film Company, Mauli is produced by Genelia Deshmukh, actress and wife of Riteish. She also tweeted about the film.
She wrote, “Mauli @mfc ‘s 5th baby … it’s a very very special film for us. It’s professional, it’s personal & it’s part of our lives- & presenting it gives us great pride. We seek all you blessings for this, our next release. #MauliTrailer #Mauli14Dec”
The film is action comedy drama directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film is written by Kshitij Patwardhan. The film stars Deshmukh as a police officer alongside Saiyami Kher.
Mirzya Debutante Saiyami Kher is also the female lead in Mauli and will be making her debut in Marathi cinema with this film.
The movie marks Deshmukh’s return to Marathi cinema following Nishikant Kamat’s 2014 hit Lal Bhaari. Mauli’s music has been composed by Ajay-Atul.
The film was initially supposed to be released on December 21, but will now be out on December 14 to avoid clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero.
