Actor Vicky Kaushal attended opening ceremony of the Jio MAMI 19th Mumbai Film Festival on Thursday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Vicky stated that Meghna Gulzar, director of his upcoming film ‘Raazi’ is full of warmth.
Talking about working with filmmaker Meghna Gulzar who has earlier made films like ‘Filhal’ and ‘Talvar’, Vicky said, “She is director who is full of warmth, she is really sweet. She exactly knows what she wants from her actors and technicians. It was wonderful working experience with her and I got to learn a lot from her”
Talking about current status of ‘Raazi’, Vicky said, “We have almost completed shooting of the film. Shooting was fun experience and climate was also really amazing while we were shooting the film. It will release in 11th May, 2018”
Talking about working with Alia Bhatt for the first time, Vicky said, “I really had great time working with Alia. She is brilliant actress to work with”
Talking about his role and plot of the ‘Raazi’, Vicky said, “I am playing Pakistani army officer in the film and the film is set around 1971 India-Pakistan war.”
Talking about MAMI festival, Vicky said, “I feel proud that this city and country has film festival like MAMI, where best films are showcased. It also gives platform to directors, producers and actors across the globe and I feel there cannot be better treat for cinema lovers than this festival”
Reacting on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ trailer, Vicky said, “It’s outstanding. It’s one of the best trailers have come in Hindi cinema ever. It’s looking really superb and Padmavati is more special because my father Shyam Kaushal has done action choreography for that film”
‘Raazi’, which narrates the story of a Kashmiri girl married to a Pakistani Army officer played by Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal respectively.
The espionage thriller is based on Harinder Sikka’s novel ‘Calling Sehmat’, and is being shot in Punjab, Kashmir and Mumbai. ‘Raazi’ is jointly produced by Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions.
