Farhan Akhtar was present at the book launch of ‘Kashmir Nama’ written by Karan Anshuman on Tuesday. During media interaction, the actor said he has no plans of writing a book but his dream had always been to make films and to be part of the film world.

Asked if Akhtar has any plans of writing a book himself to which he said, “I don’t have any such plans to write a book. he has grown up with the dream of writing a book that he has fulfilled it, hopefully, there will be many more to come. My dream had always been to make films and to be part of the film world. I am grateful for the things that have come my way.”

As an active director, actor, singer, and writer in film industry Farhan was asked to comment on the Padmavati controversy and if the request for ban is justified, “This has happened in the past with many films, and every single time that it has happened I have spoken about it openly and said that it should not. I am totally against anything being banned. I genuinely believe that we should stop treating our audience as children we should allow them to grow, and exposes them to different idea counterculture. It is important for a development of any nation for there to be viewpoints which are not agreeable to the majority.”

He further added, “In cinema, there is no such law that if a film releases come what may you have to go and see it. you have the freedom to boycott the film, you have the freedom to spread messages to boycott the film. but you don’t have the freedom to go and threaten someone or damage someone’s property. that line hasn’t been drawn very very clearly enough.”
