Nasir Hussian wanted a happy ending for ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’: Mansoor Khan

The iconic ending of ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak‘ could have been different if it wasn’t for Aamir and filmmaker Mansoor Khan. During interaction he said, his father, Nasir Hussian wanted a happy ending for.

Mansoor Khan along with the entire ensemble of ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ graced the special screening to the film to mark the 30th-year celebration.

The debut film of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla had a tragic ending. The writer of the film, Nasir Hussian had alternative ending his mind but Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan had different plans.

“I was very clear about the tragic ending from the beginning. My sister and Aamir were involved in the story from the beginning. So actually that was his idea too. But after shooting few scenes, he (my father) thought the happy ending should be there, but I think dad’s vision was ‘Romeo and Juliet’ from the start and that was the premise of the film”

Mansoor Khan and Aamir Khan along with his entire cast and crew from his debut film “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak” hosted a special screening to clock 30 years in Industry.

Actors like Dalip Tahil, Rajendranath Zutshi, Makarand Deshpande and Asha Sharma, along with Kiran Rao, Aamir’s son Junaid, ex-wife Reena Dutta and brother Faisal Khan were present at the special screening.

Sharing some interesting Trivia, Mansoor Khan said, “I wasn’t thinking anything like that I was trying to save my own skin when I made the film. I dropped out of college; I wasted a lot of my father’s money. I gave him a lot of trouble. I was living a useless life. And obviously, my dad told me that he was writing something with Aamir in his mind, to launch him”

“He told he is writing the story and I was writing my own stuff. I was still writing my story, but he finished writing his, and made me listen to it. I was forced to listen to it. I heard it and I liked it. The story was written beautifully”

The film fetched National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and eight Filmfare Awards from eleven nominations including Best Film, and Best Director for Mansoor Khan.
