Rakesh Omprakash Mehra who was present at the Bhamla Foundation to celebrate Diwali with Disable kids, talked about his upcoming film ‘Mere Pyare Prime Minister’ which deals with open defecation.
When asked about his upcoming projects Mehra on Friday said, “I finished shooting for my next film in July. Currently, we are working on post-production and editing. The title of the film is ‘Mere Pyare Prime Minister’. By early next year, everyone will be able to enjoy the film.”
“‘Mere Pyare Prime Minister’ is about empowerment and the issue of toilets in our city of Bombay. It tackles the issue of open defecation. We are working thoroughly on the numbers, facts, and data used in the film. But no matter how much we work on it, seems less. Half a billion, which is half our population, is affected by this problem in our country, and how to solve the problem is what the film is about.” Added the ‘Rang De Basanti’ director.
Founded in the year 1989, A Bhamla Foundation Initiative, ‘We Love India’ is almost entirely a volunteer-driven organization; comprising of more than 1,800 patrons, spread across several cities in India – working for cerebral palsy, autistic & spastic children.
While talking about Bhamla foundation initiative Omprakash also shared his views about lending a helping hand and making the change yourself. He believes to change the world you have to change yourself. “I think we just keep on pointing figures at others. I am of the belief, that whatever changes you wish to make you should tell them to the person you see in the mirror. If you can make the change if others can make the change may be the world could change in a day.”
Bhamla Foundation empowers children to improve their lives, their immediate communities, and their world – forever. Mr. Asif Bhamla is the force behind this wonderful work.
Omprakash’s last production and direction was ‘Mirzya’ in 2016 starring Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher.
