Over 6,000 pirated VCDs seized

Chennai, July 2 (IANS) Pirated Video Compact Discs (VCD) of several new Tamil movies, including “Dasavathaaram”, “Kuruvi”, “Paandi” and “Kathavarayan”, were seized by the police Wednesday.

A total of 6,100 VCDs worth Rs.3.6 million were seized Tuesday night from Pandian, 36, who had reportedly brought them from neighbouring Puducherry for distribution at shops in Burma Bazar and other areas in Chennai, the police said.

Pandian was arrested from a house at Mahakavi Bharathi Nagar.
