A very beautifully organized and a very noble deed is all what I can recall when I went to Taj Lands End, Bandra yesterday on March 1, 2009. The event organized by the jewellery designer Roopa Vohra was certainly one of its kinds.
What made this fashion show different from others was that instead of hot blond looking models walking down the ramp in short skirts and high heels, we had some very much known and renowned people walking up the ramp. There was a silent auction later, the proceeds going to Prerana NGO. Big and reputed artists like M.F. Hussain and others have donated their works on it.
The show kick started with the beautiful and sensational Teejay Sidhu, dressed in a gorgeous yellow sari, being the wonderful host and delighting everybody with her charm and presence. She very well informed us as to why the whole show was set up and what the central idea was for putting up the show.
A mixed genre of talented people had the honor of walking the ramp. They were the beautiful actress Neetu Chandra, the television heartthrob Karnvir Bohra, co-director of the Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire Loveleen Tandon, the lovely and still young Bhagyashree, the socialite Raja Dhody and his daughter, the evergreen Farzana Contractor, the highly experienced Mahabanu Khotwal, the cricket babe Mandira Bedi, the singing sensational duo Roop Kumar Rathod along with his wife Sonali, the talented Malvika Sanghvi, Dr. Aruna Raje, the fitness expert Leena Mogre, and the good looking fashion designer Azeem Khan.
So as one can see the event was richly blended with many renowned people who are masters in their own trade. Teejay and hubby Karnvir were seen together all the time entertaining everyone with their enlightening charm. The event was really a gala one, with people mixing around with each other discussing films, televisions, terrorism, paintings and many more. The night was a very delightful one with time halting at Taj Lands End.
