Sachin Tendulkar said Soorma is a real story portrayed beautifully.
The cricket legend took to his twitter page to share his experience after watching the film on wednesday night.
Tendulkar tweeted, “A real story portrayed beautifully on reel. @flickersingh’s determination to play for India is truly commendable, enjoyed watching #Soorma a lot.”
He also gave his best wishes for the film’s release, “My best wishes to the entire cast and crew. @imangadbedi @diljitdosanjh @taapsee”
Soorma tells the story of the international hockey player Sandeep Singh, who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gunshot injured him in 2006. Under his captaincy, India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
Directed by Shaad Ali, the film stars Diljit Dosanjh as Sandeep Singh, Tapsee Pannu as Harpreet and Angad Bedi as Bikramjeet Singh.
Co- produced by Sony Pictures the film is scheduled to release on 13th July 2018.
