Shahid Kapoor finally clears the air around upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial “Padmavati” which was caught in the eye of controversies.
Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavati came under fire by Rajput brigade for tarnishing the glorified Queen and history of Rajasthan and the movie is going under massive overhaul but actor clears the air by assuring that movie will glorify the area.
“I haven’t shot any scene which has been changed. I think there were a lot of presumptions about the film, people were presuming there are things the film, and clarification was given that those things are not in the film. When people will see the film they would realize that the heart of the film is very good. The intent of the film is very good. The country we live in and the area we’re especially talking about will be glorified and shown beautifully” adds Shahid on the sidelines of Big Zee Entertainment Awards 2017.
Padmavati is a fictional account of the life of Rani Padmini, a legendary queen mentioned in Padmavat. She was the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, the ruler of Mewar. In 1303, Alauddin Khilji, the Turkic ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, laid siege to the Chittor Fort in Rajputana to capture the Queen.
“It is a huge film, really intense film. It is also a romantic film. It is a very looked forward to film for various reasons. It is a labor of love for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, I think because the last film I saw of him, I went mad on twitter appreciating everyone on the film” adds Shahid.
Shahid Kapoor also added that he is excited to work with Sanjay Leela, as he is someone he admired and loved.
“It is awesome to be working with somebody I’ve admired and loved. It is a great caste and it is going to be a huge film. I am really excited” adds Shahid.
Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor won the Best Actress and Best Actor for their stupendous acts in Udta Punjab and “Haider” actor is nothing but praises for “Raazi” actress.
“She is looking wonderful and nothing like the character she played in Udta Punjab and that’s what amazing about her. She is doing some exceptional work. It is great to be here with her and celebrating Udta Punjab” adds Shahid.
