Soha Ali Khan – Story Behind The Perils of Being Moderately Famous

Published on

Actor Soha Ali Khan launched her first book The Perils of Being Moderately Famous, on Tuesday. During her media interaction, actor turned author, Soha shared the story behind the book title.

The book is titled, The Perils of Being Moderately Famous, which is an interesting name and the story behind it is more interesting.

“I wrote the title first and then I had to put together a book to reflect the title. I like the way certain words sound and I like the word Peril. I don’t know why? But I like the sound of it. And it can be somewhat perilous being me. It is a place where sometimes you’re struggling to exist, especially as an actor in a city like this, and belong to a family like this”

“And I thought “moderately famous” is also interesting, It came to me because there is certain national newspaper, which ran an index of famous actors and actress, rating them from one to fifty, for a time being I was on 15, then 49 and later kicked off from the list”

“And I thought it would be funny to laugh at yourself, before anyone else does, you must laugh at yourself first. And then the book fell into the place after that” said Soha Ali Khan.

In the book, Soha has written about finding herself in different capacities, as legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran Bollywood star Sharmila Tagore’s daughter, and actors Saif Ali Khan’s sister and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s sister-in-law.

The book launch saw coming together of three pretty ladies, Sharmila, Kareena and Soha and two dapper men Saif and Soha’s husband and Golmaal Again actor Kunal Kemmu.
