On Sunday, actor Arjun Rampal attended Miss India 2017 grand finale event as a judge in Mumbai. While speaking to media Arjun stated that with his upcoming film Daddy which is based on Mumbai’ dreaded gangster Arun Gawli; his team doesn’t want to glorify gangsters.
Talking about his film Daddy, Arjun said, “We have made this film with lot of understanding, debates and discussions. We don’t want to glorify the gangster and that was approach while we are making the film and people will realize this when they see the film which is just interesting life journey of Arun Gawli and after watching the film, audience can form opinion about it”.
Talking about promotion of Daddy, Arjun said, “I am glad that trailer of the film has been well received in by the audience and now we are planning to open campaign for the promotion of the film and I just hope that people will connect with us and we are releasing our song on the occasion of Eid”
Bollywood will celebrate legendary music composer R.D. Burman’s birth anniversary on 27 June, talking about R.D. Burman ,Arjun said, “I have given brief to my team that in our background score, we should include R.D. Burman’s popular songs because we are making period film between 1970s and 1980s so if we can include his songs in the film then it would be great for our film” .
Arjun Rampal was last seen in 2016 movie Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, co-starring Vidya Balan.
Daddy is directed by Ashim Ahluwalia and produced by Arjun Rampal and Rutvij Patel. It will be Arjun Rampal’s first biopic. Daddy also stars Farhan Akhtar and Aishwarya Rajesh in pivotal roles. The movie is an insight into the Mumbai underworld and tracks Arun Gawli’s journey from a gangster to a politician.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on July 21.
