Actor-Producer Farhan Akhtar unveils the official poster of forthcoming sports movie Gold and expresses that this movie is close to his heart.
Gold is an upcoming historical period sports drama film directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh and Amit Sadh.
Farhan Akhtar released the new poster on his social media profile. He wrote, “All victories begin with a dream. It fills me with immense joy to present to you the official poster of #Gold, a film that is very close to my heart”
Gold is a fictional story set on the backdrop of true incidents about India winning its first gold medal in field hockey as a free nation in the 1948 Summer Olympics.
Akshay Kumar plays the titular role in the film. The superstar also shared the poster, he wrote, “Desh banta hai jab sab deshvasiyon ki aankhon mein ek sapna hota hai. #Gold15Aug”
The Arjuna Award winner and former Indian national hockey team captain, Sandeep Singh, was signed to train the actors to improve their hockey skills. The major shooting was done in Yorkshire and The Midlands, England.
The film is expected to be released on 15 August 2018.
