We all do remember the movie Chhota Chetan, don’t we? We will again be exicited to watch this in new format after 20 odd years. This movie broke new paths in the realm of mainstream family entertainment. Chhota Chean is now called Kutti Chetan and is done in classical 2D and 3D animation. It is presented by Dreams and produced by V. Rajeshwar Rao and Deepak S. Jadhav and directed by Deepak Subhash Jadhav. The character design animation is done using 3D Max, while the traditional hand paintings are used for location backdrop.
The film tells the thrilling story of a treasure hunt by the protagonist Kutti Chetan and his two kid-pals Raj and Yamini. The movie has all that would excite our chhote kids. It has action, comedy, magic, nine head serpent, magical powers, a cantaloupe-sized ruby, idiotic kleptomaniac minions, a mischief-monging blue spirit with no memory of his legendary past, a talking dove, a cab-driving grandfather etc. The music is scored by Pritam Chakraborty.
The film is co-written by ace editor Ashmith Kunder along with the Los Angeles-based writer Mark Zolve. The animation has been executed by experts from the Philippines, Indonesia and Rome. The research for the film has been sourced from scriptures and Internet material from Kerala. The work which began in July 2007 is now in the final stages of animation and slated for a December 2008 release.
