Veteran Actor Anupam Kher tackle the issue of depression in his humble attempt by unveiling a video, in which senior actor urge people to talk about it!
Anupam Kher addresses the taboo issue of depression in his video, the video encourages people to overcome depression and not shy away from coming out in the open about the issue.
He captioned it, “Friends! This video is an attempt by me to spread awareness about the most silent and perhaps the biggest disease spreading at an alarming speed in the world today – DEPRESSION. Please make it reach out to people and help. Thanks. #LoveLifeLiveLife”
In the video, Anupam is seen saying “When you live under the burden of pretense for long, its difficult to identify the real essence of life. We are all born equally, and in the first few years, we radiate life’s energy, passionately. We are all full of life…And then we grow up. We learn to hide our emotions and fake them. And how effortlessly we train ourself to do that….”
Further, he adds, “Together, we will find the hope we need. All we must do is, offer and receive a helping hand”
Over his three-decade-long journey in Hindi filmdom, he has also appeared in many acclaimed international films such as the Golden Globe-nominated “Bend It Like Beckham”, Ang Lee’s Golden Lion-winning “Lust”, and David O. Russell’s Oscar-winning “Silver Linings Playbook”.
He has also been honored with the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution in the field of cinema and arts.
