Salman Khan and Sohail Khan is on promotion spree for their most anticipated movie of the year Tubelight and they both are leaving no stone unturned to promote it despite of their busy schedules. Salman and Sohail in press conference on Tuesday talked about Tubelight and during that interaction Salman revealed that Arbaaz will not direct Dabangg 3 which has delayed for the longest period of time because of Salman’s other film commitments.
Sohail has directed Salman in films like Auzaar, Jai Ho, Hello Brother and Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya and one the other hand Arbaaz has directed Salman in only one movie Dabangg 2. When asked Salman about his favorite director, he said, “I feel , Sohail is better director because he is more patient and with Sohail, you can improvise on things but in similar situation, Arbaaz gets panicked and his blood pressure starts to fluctuate. Now I am doing Dabangg 3 with him so Arbaaz has made me clear that I am not going to direct it and I am only producing it so I said to him that we will find a good director to direct it”.
Earlier, According to reports of Koimoi.com, Salman stated that “We have our third film ready and it will go back and show how Chulbul Pandey becomes Chulbul Pandey. If the second one becomes a hit, we can go to the third one, which is actually the first one. So Dabangg 3 will be a prequel,”
Asked if she will be seen in the prequel, he said, “There is a place for Sonakshi in Dabangg 3 as well. She is there, her father is there, but we don’t meet.”
There were also report floating that Dabangg 3 will be two heroine film and other than Sonakshi’s role Kajol or Parineeti Chopra has been considered but as of no official clarification has been came from their proction house.
Dabangg (2010) was set in Uttar Pradesh, Chulbul Pandey is a young boy who lives with his mother Naini, stepfather Prajapati, and younger half-brother Makkhi. Chulbul is constantly angry that his step-father is always partial towards his own biological son. 21 years later, Chulbul is a rowdy, mischievous, and sometimes crooked cop, who refers to himself as “Robin Hood.” He does everything in his own indomitable way; whether it’s dealing with corrupt politician and thug Chedi Singh, fighting a family feud, or romancing stunning Rajo. It was directed By Abhinav Kashyap and it has Sonu Sood in negative role. The film became one of the highest grosser of 2010.
Dabangg 2 made entry of Arbaaz Khan in the field of direction after Abhinav Kashyap had some creative differences with him on making of Dabangg 2. Dabangg 2 was moved larger scale when character of Chulbul Pandey gets transferred from village to city of Kanpur where he had face elder brother of Chedi Singh which was played by Prakash Raj who is determined to take revenge of death of his brother from Chulbul Pandey. Dabangg 2 also became one of the top grosser of 2012.
There is one technical issue if Salman and Arbaaz decide to make prequel of the film because in earlier two films late actor Vinod Khanna played role of Salman’s step father so this time around they will be unable to show the chemistry between the father and son.
Aamir Khan’s Dangal has done phenomenal business in China and China is used as backdrop in Tubelight, when asked Salman about releasing it China in an interview, he said, “First this film should get release in Hindi and if our audience like the film, connects with it and people starts going to theatre for the second time as well then it should not matter whether it is releasing in China or not”
He also spoke about Indo-China war backdrop which has shown in the film, “We have just used it as backdrop. In this film , we have shown that war should end as soon as possible so that soldiers from both countries could return to their homes because whenever war happens , both side of soldiers gets died and their kids or parents live whole life without them”
Shah Rukh Khan will seen in Tubelight making a small cameo first time after their patch up, when aksed about that, Samnan said, “We will organize screening for everyone in industry and of course will organize special screening to Shah Rukh as well”
Tubelight is slated to release on June 23.
