Bollywood hails the gallant efforts of Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu wining the silver World Badminton Championships.

PV Sindhu cruised into the final of the World Championship with an easy win over Chen Yufei of China, but failed to bring India the elusive gold medal from the World Badminton Championships as she lost her game to Japanese seventh seed Nozomi Okuhara in finals. But B-Town and Indians are proud of her efforts.

Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media account and hailed the player for her gallant final. He wrote, “T 2529 – #Sindhu , #Pvsindhu1…you made India proud…you are a Champion…spirit, guts, endurance…for me you won…never gave up”
Farhan Akhtar also tweeted about the win. He wrote, “Congratulations @Pvsindhu1 for winning silver. Extremely close contest that could have gone either way. Tough luck this time. Shine On.”

Actress Shraddha Kapoor, who is working in biopic based on Indian female badminton player, also expressed her joy on social media. She wrote, “Incredible moment for India! Congratulations @NSaina & @Pvsindhu1 for bringing back the bronze & silver medals home. Well played #Okuhara!”

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu (PV Sindhu) is an Indian professional badminton player. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal. She is one of the two Indian badminton players to ever win an Olympic medal – other being Saina Nehwal.
