Following the trend of Sonu Nigam, Himesh Reshammiya and Ali Zafar, Babul Supriyo also becomes an Actor from a successful singer. Babul is making his Hindi Debut along with Arshad Warsi in a Sameer Tiwari directed film which is interestingly titled ‘Joe B Carvahlo‘.
The Singer has started shooting for his debut Hindi film in Bangalore from Monday. Apart from Arshad Warsi and Babul, The film also has Soha Ali Khan and Jaaved Jaffry. Speaking in a telephonic conversation, The singer-cum-actor said “It’s a slapstick comedy. I play a cameo in this film, a character called Malik. He’s got shades of grey in him, wears a rugged look and is a gun-toting man. Ever since I was young, I wanted to play comic characters. The most difficult job for an actor is to make people laugh.”
So in that case, Bye-Bye to the singing career? Babul quickly replied “I am doing playbacks but I would not disclose the names of the movies. Nowadays, three-four singers are singing the same song and it’s tough to identify whose voice is retained.”
This is not the first film where Babul will be seen as an actor. The singer has already done three Bengali films including the much talked about ‘Hit list‘. We hope Babul excels with his new journey of an actor too.
