Bachchan to do it the Corbett way

Amitabh Bachchan at Bhootnath press meet in Cinemax on March 15, 2008 (7).jpgAmitabh Bachchan is all set to play a very interesting role in the near future. He’s playing the world renowned tiger hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett in a Priyadarshan film. For the uninitiated, Corbett was an Indian-born British hunter and naturalist, famous for slaying a large number of man-eating tigers and leopards in the jungles of Kumaon in North India under the British Raj.

Amitabh Bachchan at the launch of Ambani Hospital in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Andheri on 26th Jan 2009 (13).JPGCorbett, was a colonel in the British Indian Army. He was also a conservationist who stressed the need to save forests and wild life.

After the not happy response to ‘Billu’, Priyan is set to make the first thriller of his career.

The film is interestingly titled ‘Grrr’ and will be about the man-eating tigers of Sunderbans.

But mind you, the director who recently got accolades for his film ‘Kanchivaram’ is not shooting the film with real tigers.

Rather he’s using animatronics (robotic tigers) for the film.

This will be Priyan’s first film with the Big B as he has only directed advertisements with him in the past.

The director says he could envision none other than the megastar in the role of the fearless hunter.

Seeing Big B do justice to the role would be nothing less than a treat. We just don’t want to be let down in any way.
