Megastar Amitabh Bachchan attended teaser launch of upcoming film based on former Shivsena Supremo Bal Thackeray in the presence of Shivsena MP Sanjay Raut, Shivsena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Thursday in Mumbai. Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is playing character of Bal Thackeray in ‘Thackeray’ stated that Bal Thackeray will inspire and bless him to play his character in his biopic.
Nawazuudin expressed his thoughts from Mauritius on playing character of Bal Thackeray through video as he wasn’t present at the teaser launch, he said, “This day has been really special for me because we are releasing teaser of our film and I am grateful that I got the opportunity to play character of such great personality which any actor in the world would have dreamt of because he had that kind of unique personality. I want to thank Mr. Sanjay Raut for having faith in me and I am also thankful to Mr. Uddhav Thackeray who gave us to make permission to make this film on his father’s life. I have full faith on our film’s director Abhijit Panse that we will take this biopic up to the mark. I am also very glad that we are releasing teaser of the film in the presence of Mahanayak Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.”
Nawazuddin Further added in Marathi that “Everyone must be thinking that how would be able to speak in Marathi for this film but I want to guarantee them that Balasaheb Thackeray will inspire me to play his character and he will bless in me in this journey and beloved language Marathi will also shower me same amount of love”
Bachchan said he was grateful for being invited for the teaser launch.
Bachchan said he looked at Thackeray as a father figure.
“We were very close to each other, we were more like family. I respect him a lot,” he said.
The ‘Pink’ star recalled that when he got married, Thackeray had called him saying he wants to meet his newly wedded wife Jaya Bachchan.
‘Thackeray’ will be directed by Abhijit Panse; the bilingual (Hindi and Marathi)l biopic has been written and produced by Sanjay Raut.
The biopic will release on January 23, 2019.
